2015 Pro Bowl MVP: Matthew Stafford, J.J. Watt take home offensive and defensive honors

Matthew Stafford and J.J. Watt are your offensive and defensive Pro Bowl MVPs.

The 2015 Pro Bowl is in the books, as Team Irvin bested Team Carter with a fourth-quarter comeback, winning 32-28. They named two MVPs for the game, one on offense and one on defense. Unsurprisingly, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was named offensive MVP, as he put up over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns in limited time. Defensive MVP went to Houston Texans defender J.J Watt, who had a pick and defended multiple passes.

As usual, there wasn't a ton of room for defenders to shine in the Pro Bowl. Nobody is going to put up a ton of sacks or interceptions, so the offense mostly dominated the discussion. With the quarterbacks at play and the kind of playmakers at the wide receiver positions, there were a ton of big plays.

Watt was a different story, however. Watt was only credited with one tackle, but he had an interception (of course he did) and was credited with three passes defensed on top of that. Watt was always a big favorite to win the award.

Both Andrew Luck and Drew Brees played well for Team Carter, as the pair threw two touchdowns apiece. Luck threw both of his on just 10 pass attempts, with only one incompletion, and clearly had the better game. Brees attempted 21 passes and also had an interceptions. For Team Irvin, Stafford attempted 25 passes and put up a huge 316 yards while doing so. He had two touchdowns and an interception.

As far as the receivers go, Odell Beckham Jr. was a favorite for the award given his penchant for big plays and he did not disappoint. He made yet another ridiculous catch, diving despite this being the Pro Bowl and all. Beckham finished with five receptions and 89 yards. Antonio Brown caught six passes for 98 yards for Team Carter though, including a long of 30 yards. Detroit Lions receiver Golden Tate caught just two passes on the day -- but he went 98 yards with them.
