Los Blacnos are in desperate need of a win, and some positive vibes at the moment.
If there was ever a match that a team was virtually guaranteed to win, it might be this Saturday's league match between Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruña at the Bernabéu. There is of course no such thing as a guaranteed victory in sports, but considering what Madrid has been through over the past week, they shouldn't be lacking in motivation to earn an impressive victory.
In the wake of their rather embarrassing 4-0 loss against Atlético Madrid, the team's injury problems worsened as Sami Khedira was ruled out due to a head injury. He joins James, Luka Modrić and Sergio Ramos on the sideline, leaving the already beleaguered midfield even thinner on options.
Then there was the video of Cristiano Ronaldo having a lively 30th birthday party in the late hours following the loss. There were reports of players and ream staff reacting poorly to this, and the reaction from some fans and elements of the media wasn't any better.
With their league over Barcelona down to just a point, Madrid need a victory to restore some confidence and ensure that they don't find themselves in second place come the end of the weekend.
