A.J. Green ruled out against Colts

The Bengals will be without one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL with A.J. Green ruled out due to a concussion.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has been ruled out of the Bengals wild card game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday due to a concussion. Green suffered the concussion in Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and failed to practice all week while undergoing concussion protocol.

Green has been one of the most prolific receivers in the game since being drafted out of Georgia in 2011. A four-year veteran, he has eclipsed 1,000 yards in each campaign. The Bengals have made the playoffs each year, only to lose in the first round each time.

Without Green, the Bengals are going to have a tough time throwing the ball against Indianapolis. Top corner Vontae Davis can move to Mohamed Sanu, who becomes the main receiving threat with Green sidelined with a toe injury. When Cincinnati lost 27-0 in October to Indianapolis, Green was inactive and Dalton had a miserable day, completing 18-of-38 passes for 126 yards. The Bengals have lost in the first round of the playoffs three straight years, with offensive struggles a main culprit. Trying to snap that streak without arguably their best player cannot be what the Bengals had in mind.
