Monday features a full slate of intriguing NHL matchups.
The NHL begins the final week of 2014 with a slew of hockey games sure to pique your interest on Monday night.
The evening's headlining act is between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings, two divisional foes battling for position in the Eastern Conference. In the Bruins' case, their task is to take down the Wings and take an important step forward in regaining ground in the playoff race. The Red Wings, meanwhile, are sitting comfortably in second place in the Atlantic. The two squads are in virtually opposite positions from this time last season, a fact that won't be lost on either when they play again on Monday.
Later on, the Minnesota Wild will try to atone for their loss to the Jets over the weekend when they visit Winnipeg. Minnesota managed to lose in overtime when Andrew Ladd's missed shot careened off the glass, bounced off their goalie's head and fell into the net. Losing a game due to horrendous puck luck is generally good motivation for winning the rematch, so look for a strong game from the Wild.
Here is the full schedule for Monday. All times are Eastern.
