Ermon Lane injury: Florida State wide receiver leaves Rose Bowl after big hit

FSU loses a wideout late in the first half.

Florida State freshman wide receiver Ermon Lane left the Rose Bowl late in the first half after taking a vicious hit. After catching a pass from Jameis Winston, Lane turned upfield and ran for a first down before being knocked down. He came back to his feet for the next play, but looked wobbly and went back down before the next snap. He did not return to the field in the first half.

Lane's second-quarter reception was his first of the game and twelfth of the season. He had not caught a pass since a November 15 game at Miami. Lane has 262 yards receiving on the season, with one touchdown. The former Florida Gators commit was one of the top receiver recruits in the country last year. Even though his production has not been exceptional, Lane is crucial to Florida State's offense.

At the end of the first half, Oregon leads Florida State 18-13 in the first College Football Playoff semifinal.
