Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 17: Rueben Randle surprises with big game

Rueben Randle torched the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. We take a look at his remaining fantasy value.

The New York Giants delivered a stunning offensive performance, beating the St. Louis Rams, 37-27. Of course, Odell Beckham Jr. delivered another outstanding performance with eight receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns. However, not far down the box score, Rueben Randle posted some impressive numbers. Randle caught all six of his targets for 132 yards and a touchdown.

St. Louis has been delivering shutdown performances over the past several weeks, so it was surprising to see so many Giants players thrive on Sunday. Prior to Sunday's game, Randle had just one touchdown on the season and one game with over 100 receiving yards. He's been benched early in games for missing team meetings. For the most part, Randle has been a huge letdown for the Giants.

Fantasy impact: Randle wasn't started in many leagues for good reason. He hasn't been producing much and he was up against a typically stout defense. The Giants have been improving every week though, largely due to the breakout season Beckham Jr. is having.

Still, there isn't enough to suggest that Randle is more than a WR4 heading into Week 17. Anything is possible in a division matchup, but Randle is far from proving that his Week 16 performance is beyond an exception to the rule.
