Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 17: Jeff Cumberland finds the end zone

The tight end scored only his second touchdown of the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

A quiet season for New York Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland saw him enter Sunday's game with only one touchdown. The tight end doubled that output Sunday in the Jets' 17-16 loss to the New England Patriots.

The tight end caught three passes Sunday for 43 yards and a score. It was the Jets' only touchdown in the game, on a 20-yard pass midway through the second quarter. The Jets' other tight ends -- Jace Amaro and Zach Sudfeld -- were kept quiet in the game. Amaro had no catches on one target, while Sudfeld caught his lone target, going for 6 yards.

Fantasy impact: It was Cumberland's first game with more than two fantasy points since Week 7, and only his third all year. Even at the tight end position, where dreams go to die, Cumberland's usage is so dodgy that he's not worth an investment in any kind of fantasy league.

The New York tight-end trio of Amaro, Cumberland and Sudfeld might be at least decent for real football -- nothing more than decent, but at least that -- but there's no fantasy value anywhere in there.
