Jerick McKinnon missed another practice with his back injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon was held out of practice Wednesday. McKinnon is still dealing with a back injury and his status should be considered questionable for Sunday's Week 14 game against the New York Jets.
McKinnon suffered the back injury sometime last week and did not practice. He was eventually held out of the Vikings' Week 13 win over the Carolina Panthers. McKinnon has been getting opportunities to shine as a rookie this season, rushing for 538 yards on 113 carries, but he loses goal line work to Matt Asiata.
Fantasy impact: We need to see McKinnon return to practice sometime this week before we can comfortably recommend him against the Jets defense. Either way, the Vikings added to the backfield quagmire by signing Ben Tate, who played seven snaps and got five carries last week. McKinnon will only be a low-end RB2/flex option for the fantasy playoffs, especially if the back injury forces him to miss another game.
