Latavius Murray returns to practice, fantasy status looking up

Latavius Murray was cleared to practice on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Oakland Raiders running back Latavius Murray returned to practice Wednesday. He hasn't been fully cleared from his concussion, but Murray is now on track to make his return against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

Murray missed the past two games with a concussion he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12. He made a big impact in that game before leaving, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries. Murray is expected to get a bigger role in the offense over the ineffective duo of Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew.

Fantasy impact: Murray showed real burst and brought a spark to the offense that McFadden and Jones-Drew couldn't provide. Getting cleared is still a hurdle for him after failing a concussion test Friday. Murray will be a day-to-day situation and we'll update his status Thursday. With Derek Carr regressing, the Raiders figure to lean on the running game more, making Murray an appealing RB2/flex play when he returns.
