Denard Robinson suffered a sprained foot and will be shut down for the season. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson is done for the year after suffering a mid-foot sprain. The Jaguars confirmed the news Wednesday, opting to shut him down for the final three games of the season.
Robinson's promising sophomore season comes to an end. He won the starting job in mid-October and seemed to be a rising star, rushing for 331 yards and two touchdowns in a three-game stretch from Weeks 7-9. Robinson quickly petered out, and failed to reach 60 rushing yards in his last three games before suffering the injury. He concludes his second year with 582 rushing yards, four touchdowns and 4.3 yards per carry.
Fantasy impact: The Jaguars will turn to some combination of Toby Gerhart, Storm Johnson and Jordan Todman to close out the year. With the season already over for the 2-11 Jaguars, we expect them to give a longer look at the rookie Johnson, but fantasy owners should steer far clear of this mess. You really don't want your title hopes coming down to Storm Johnson in the flex spot. Despite Robinson's disappointing finish, he remains a promising dynasty stash and breakout candidate for 2015.
