After both teams lost on Thanksgiving, they'll look to get back on track Thursday.
Both the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys played last Thursday, on Thanksgiving Day. They play the Thursday game again in Week 14, facing one another after demoralizing Week 13 losses. The 5-7 Bears are playing out the string on a disappointing season, and the 8-4 Cowboys need every win possible to stay in the NFC playoff hunt.
The Cowboys have both quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Terrance Williams on the week's injury report. Both should play Thursday night, though Romo's situation is a bit of a question mark after he looked less than 100 percent in Week 13. The Bears should have wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and tight end Martellus Bennett Thursday night despite their ailments. The team will likely be without kicker Robbie Gould, though, as he deals with a quadricep injury. Chicago signed veteran kicker Jay Feely to fill in.
The Bears will host Thursday's game at 8:25 p.m. ET. Let's look at the fantasy considerations:
COWBOYS
Start 'em: It's easy to explain away the Thanksgiving struggles of the Cowboys in general and Romo specifically as short rest, with them playing Thursday afternoon after a Sunday night game. With that in mind, against a poor defense, Romo makes sense as a low-end QB1. ... There's still no reason to go away from DeMarco Murray or Dez Bryant as premier fantasy options.
Start 'em?: If you have Jason Witten , you're still probably using him, though his Thanksgiving performance (zero fantasy points) definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth. ... Dan Bailey hasn't been his usual elite kicker self in recent weeks. There isn't likely to be a better option available, but you should at least check.
Sit 'em: There's just no way to use Williams in fantasy; he has five fantasy points in his last four games combined. ... The Cowboys' defense isn't very good, and Thursday plays a Chicago offense that shouldproductive.
BEARS
Start 'em: Even with the Bears disappointing on the whole a week ago, Jay Cutler managed 15 fantasy points, and that was against a great Detroit defense on the road. At home, with Dallas' forgiving unit, he should do better. ... It's easy to write off the struggles of Matt Forte from Week 13, and he's still a top-flight running back. ... Jeffery has been better than Brandon Marshall of late, but both are WR2's at worst. ... Bennett had his first good game in a month in Week 13. He's still an easy TE1.
Sit 'em: With Gould sidelined, the Bears will turn to Feely, but that's certainly not a promising fantasy option. ... The Bears' defense has three negative scores in its last five games.
SUMMARY
Start in every league: Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray, Dez Byrant, Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett
Start if you're desperate: Jason Witten, Dan Bailey
Bench: Terrance Williams, Dallas defense, Jay Feely, Chicago defense
