Jerick McKinnon missed his second straight practice and likely won't play in Week 14. We break down the fantasy implications.
Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon was held out of practice again Thursday. With McKinnon now missing two practices in a row, he's unlikely to suit up for Sunday's Week 14 game against the New York Jets.
McKinnon is dealing with a back injury that forced him to miss Week 13, and he could be sitting for the second game in a row. The rookie has had promising production in his first year, rushing for 538 yards in eight games and averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Matt Asiata will get the start once again if McKinnon is inactive, with Ben Tate and Joe Baynard expected to mix in.
Fantasy impact: With no indication that McKinnon will return soon, it's hard to justify holding on to him as the fantasy playoffs approach. Asiata is one of the least efficient runners in football, but his nose for the end zone keeps him on the RB3/flex radar. He's only a dart throw even against a crumbling Jets defense.
