Four-star defensive tackle Neville Gallimore commits to Oklahoma

After a tough week on the field and on the recruiting trail, the Sooners got some good news Saturday at the 2015 US Army All-American Bowl.

SAN ANTONIO -- The second commitment of the 2015 US Army All-American Bowl has gone down at the Alamodome, as St. Catherine's (Ont.) Canada Prep defensive tackle Neville Gallimore pledged to the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday.

The 6'3, 300-pound gridder did not participate in the game due to injury, but he did chose the Sooners over his other finalists, Ohio State and Florida State. He took official visits to all three of those schools and also tripped to Auburn and Michigan State this fall.

Landing at Oklahoma was hardly a surprise to the industry, as the Sooners had trended heavily in Gallimore's 247Sports Crystal Ball projections in recent weeks, taking a commanding lead at 64% over the Buckeyes.

Prior to his commitment, he also held offers from Auburn, California, Cincinnati, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, TCU, UCLA, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin, among others.

He's ranked as the No. 68 player nationally, the No. 10 defensive tackle, and the No. 1 player in Ontario, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Possessing one of the most explosive first steps of any prospect in the class, Gallimore has an impressive overall skill set because he can use his hands, is active, and can hold up at the point of attack.

He's also the highest-rated commit in the Oklahoma class, which sits at 18 pledges and was ranked No. 18 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12, according to the 247Sports Composite team rankings, prior to Gallimore's decision.
