Martellus Bennett put in some work in garbage time on Thanksgiving. Will he have another good game for his fantasy owners on Thursday?
Sometimes garbage time can make a player's day. The Chicago Bears were out of it on their last drive of the game against the Detroit Lions, but tight end Martellus Bennett racked up two catches for 45 yards to give his fantasy owners in PPR leagues a nice little 6.5-point boost in the last two minutes. It also helped him get to over 100 yards with an eight-catch, 109-yard day.
Bennett was starting to disappear before this last gem, averaging just 37 yards per game over his previous three without a score. On the bright side, he was targeted 6.0 times per game, so the opportunities were still there for him.
He gets an awesome matchup this week against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. The Cowboys rank as the third-best matchup for fantasy tight ends, allowing nine TDs to tight ends on the year.
Fantasy impact: Bennett should be viewed as a TE6-8 this week. His fantasy owners should have him in their lineups unless they have an elite option.
