Two games are on tap for the NHL on Sunday.
The holiday break is over for the NHL, and the Maple Leafs and Canucks are likely hoping they didn't lose any momentum while they were off on break.
Toronto visits the Florida Panthers at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday fresh off a big win in Dallas last Tuesday. Prior to that 4-0 win, the Leafs had dropped three consecutive games. Before that losing streak, they had won six straight games. You might be sensing a pattern there.
Suffice it to say, the Leafs have struggled to find any consistency once again this season. The only thing they can count on lately is their goaltending. Jonathan Bernier stopped 43 shots in the shutout against the Stars.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver Canucks will try to extend their win streak to three games when they go on the road against the Anaheim Ducks at 8 p.m. Vancouver entered the holiday break with back-to-back wins, including a 7-1 drubbing of the Arizona Coyotes. It will be a challenge for Vancouver, going against the NHL leading Ducks. Anaheim has already racked up 52 points and is 7-2-1 in its last 10 games. The Ducks haven't been unbeatable lately, however, going just 2-2 in their last four games.
Here is the full schedule for Sunday. All times are Eastern.
