Four-star CB Ykili Ross commits to USC

The rebuilding efforts continue apace for Steve Sarkisian in Los Angeles after landing a commitment from Ross at 2015 US Army All-American Bowl.

SAN ANTONIO -- Improved play on the field and a recruiting class that is already among the best in the country helped the USC Trojans secure a commitment from Riverside (Calif.) Polytechnic cornerback Ykili Ross at the 2015 US Army All-American Bowl Saturday at the Alamodome.

Ross chose the Trojans over the Fighting Irish.

Ultimately, proximity was a key for USC after Ross visited Oklahoma, Arizona State, and Oregon in addition to his two finalists. And the decision wasn't exactly a shock to the industry, as the 247Sports Crystal Ball for Ross was 94% in favor of the Trojans before his announcement.

The 6'2, 185-pounder also considered offers from Arizona, Boise State, California, Colorado, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Utah, Washington, and Washington State, among others.

Ranked as a consensus four-star prospect, Ross is rated as the No. 108 player nationally, the No. 10 cornerback in the country, and the No. 17 player in California, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Ross is now the 20th pledge for USC in a 2015 class that ranked No. 8 nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12 prior to his commitment, according to the 247Sports Composite team rankings.
