With the First Four out of the way, all day basketball is coming over the next two days.
The NCAA Tournament field has already been whittled down to 64 teams with the completion of the First Four games, but the real action begins Thursday with a full slate of second-round games across the country. You'll need to have your bracket set by then, so don't forget to hop online or grab a pen and paper to make all those picks.
Most people use the web to run their tournament bracket pools these days, but that doesn't mean we're done with paper for good. A downloadable PDF of our printable bracket can be found here, for those of you who prefer going old school by scribbling out your predictions.
One thing that's certain about your bracket, whether it's online or written by hand, is that it'll be wrong. Kentucky may be the strongest NCAA Tournament favorite in recent memory, but the odds of correctly selecting each game in the annual event are almost unimaginable.
That unpredictable nature of the tournament is what makes it such an exciting sporting event, and the 2015 edition should be no different. Basketball will be played, upsets will happen and hearts will be broken. You just gotta hope your bracket doesn't break, too.
With that said, picking Kentucky isn't necessarily the lock everyone is making it out to be. With No. 2 seed Arizona rolling over the past few weeks and other talented teams like Duke, Wisconsin, Virginia, Villanova, Kansas and Gonzaga populating the field, John Calipari's team is far from a sure thing. In the NCAAs, nobody is.
That's how a seventh-seeded Connecticut team rolled to the championship last year, and it's always possible that happens again. Talented teams like Michigan State and Wichita State are No. 7 seeds this year. We all know the kind of magic Tom Izzo's teams can create in March.
So we're likely to be treated to another awesome tournament, full of close battles, upsets and defining performances from star players. We'll probably get a Cinderella or two, maybe even a breakout star player a la Shabazz Napier last year. Just hope you picked the right ones, and you won't have to wonder what could've been like we all have so many times.
