Women's NCAA Tournament 2015 schedule and bracket: UConn looks to clinch 8th straight Final Four

Breanna Stewart and the Huskies will face Dayton on Monday night, while Tennessee plays Maryland.

Sweet 16 games aren't supposed to be 50-point laughers that are over by halftime. But that's exactly what it was in Albany on Saturday when No. 1 overall seed UConn dismantled No. 5 Texas, 105-54. Two-time Final Four MOP Breanna Stewart turned in perhaps the most impressive NCAA Tournament game of her career, with 31 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists -- all game highs. Moriah Jefferson had 25 points and six assists, as the two combined to shoot 21-28 from the field and 5-7 from three.

Next up for the Huskies: a game against No. 7 Dayton, which routed No. 3 Louisville on Saturday. Andrea Hoover played all 40 minutes of that game for the Flyers, made all 15 of her free throw attempts and scored 26 points to lead the way to an 82-66 win. Jodie Cornell-Sigmundova had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds as well.

The upstart Flyers will battle UConn on Monday night, with the winner headed to the Final Four in Tampa. If the Huskies win, it will be their eighth straight trip to the Final Four, where they will look to capture their third straight championship.

The winner of UConn and Dayton will face the winner of No. 1 Maryland and No. 2 Tennessee. The top two seeds advanced to the Elite Eight in the Spokane Region with hard-fought wins in the Sweet 16. Tennessee outlasted No. 11 Gonzaga in overtime, 73-69, behind 22 points and 15 rebounds from Cierra Burdick.

Maryland reached the Elite Eight by topping former conference foe Duke, 65-55. After the Terrapins took an eight-point lead into the locker room, the Blue Devils cut the deficit to a single point with 12:56 to play. Maryland responded by scoring on three of its next four possessions to take back control. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough led Maryland with 24 points.

So by the end of Monday, we will know the teams joining Notre Dame and South Carolina in the Final Four. The possibility of UConn and Tennessee reigniting their rivalry in the Final Four is sure to draw plenty of intrigue, but each team has one more game to win before that can happen.
