A.J. Green injury update: ailing WR listed as probable for Bengals, fantasy owners

The Bengals' No. 1 receiver is on track to start after sustaining a scary hit Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is listed as probable for his team's fight for the AFC North title versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Green suffered a helmet-to-elbow hit Monday night against the Denver Broncos, and although he returned to the field, he wasn't the same. The Bengals subsequently gave him a rest Wednesday, but Green returned at a limited capacity Thursday before practicing in full Friday.

Fantasy Spin: The question isn't whether Green will play in a game that will decide the AFC North; it's a matter of how productive he will be. Practicing two out of the three days while including a full session is encouraging news, but it's difficult to gauge if this is an injury Green can produce through. Owners can't be faulted for being cautious after witnessing his performance in Week 16.

Judging from the practice reports, it appears the worst is over for him, and fantasy owners would be gambling if they benched a player with Green's upside this week. Consider Green a low-end WR1 that should be in most lineups across the board.
