Eagles vs. Giants start/sit advice: Mark Sanchez, Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr.

Remember when the Eagles were good and the Giants bad? Things have turned lately.

A promising season for the Philadelphia Eagles has fallen apart over the last month, and they're a Sunday loss away from falling from 9-3 and a probable playoff berth to 9-7 and a whole lot to regret coming out of 2014. Their opponent, the New York Giants, has done the opposite, rising from 3-9 to now 6-9. With a win Sunday, they could at least take away some hope from what had been a disaster season.

Philadelphia wide receiver Jordan Matthews is listed on the week's injury report, though there's not much reason to think he'll miss Sunday. For the Giants, running back Rashad Jennings is probable to make his return after missing and/or barely playing in the last three, while position-mate Andre Williams is heading the other direction and is questionable for Sunday.

The Giants will host the Eagles at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. Let's take a look at the fantasy names to consider:

EAGLES

Start 'em: The usage for LeSean McCoy has been frustrating much of the season, but the upside is such that you're still using him. ... Jeremy Maclin has only one double-digit fantasy day in his last five, though he's still putting up enough numbers that you're using him. ... The Eagles' defense has fallen off a bit of late, but still has elite upside.

Start 'em?: After a couple bad games in a row, Mark Sanchez finally had a decent one again in Week 16. He's no great shakes as an NFL quarterback, but the team and system make him reasonable as a QB2 in fantasy. ... Zach Ertz has finally started performing again. He's a reasonable TE2, but with some risk. ... Cody Parkey has had two bad games in his last three. He might have hit the rookie wall.

Sit 'em: You can't really put any trust in Darren Sproles or Chris Polk as fantasy options. ... Jordan Matthews had a hot stretch earlier in the year, but his season has gone in the tank. ... Sure, Riley Cooper had a big Week 16, but come on, it's Riley Cooper.

GIANTS

Start 'em: Not only is Odell Beckham Jr. a fantasy must-start, he's basically the consensus No. 1 receiver across the entire league.

Start 'em?: Against a rough Philadelphia pass defense, with his running backs banged up, Eli Manning could throw all over the field Sunday. He certainly has downside, but he looks like a strong QB2 at least. ... Josh Brown 's fantasy production has improved as the Giants' offense has. He's a defensible deep play. ... The Giants' defense has gotten much better of late. If Sunday is a bad Mark Sanchez game, it could be a good one for the New York defense.

Sit 'em: Between the injury questions and the possibility of them splitting touches, this seems like the time to forget about both Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams this season. ... Rueben Randle had a huge Week 16, and does have a nice situation, but it's hard to imagine trusting him after his sub-par season. ... Larry Donnell 's season has fallen off the map.

SUMMARY

Start in every league: LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia defense, Odell Beckham Jr.

Start if you're desperate: Mark Sanchez, Zach Ertz, Cody Parkey, Eli Manning, Josh Brown, New York defense

Bench: Darren Sproles, Chris Polk, Jordan Matthews, Riley Cooper, Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams, Rueben Randle, Larry Donnell
