Week 17 isn't the usual Week 17 with so many playoff scenarios still up in the air. Here are some fantasy options at receiver.
Well, if you're reading this, you're probably in your fantasy championship. Usually, most fantasy leagues do not have Week 17 because teams often have nothing to play for and those in the playoffs will rest guys. This year, every team in the playoffs has something to play for with the Denver Broncos losing to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.
So, there are not going to be many fantasy pickups on teams looking to bench guys. The Indianapolis Colts could get the No. 2 seed and have already said they are not going to rest players, which makes sense based on how awful they looked on Sunday.
Here are five guys worth a look this week:
Mohamed Sanu, Cincinnati Bengals (owned in 70 percent of leagues) - A.J. Green was not healthy on Monday night and the Bengals are likely going to limit him in practice this week. The last time Green was out of the lineup, Sanu was outstanding. In Week 6, Sanu racked up 10 catches for 120 yards and one score and he also saw at least nine targets in every game in October.
The Bengals will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, so this could be a great matchup. They are the 27th-ranked team against the pass and the Bengals also had some success against them in Week 14. Sanu could be a WR2 should Green miss time.
Charles Johnson, Minnesota Vikings (owned in 37 percent of leagues) - He's not healthy and did miss time. Johnson was able to return and there's been no indication of him at risk of missing Week 17. Johnson had some nice momentum before Week 17, and he did get a bad matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
This week, the Vikings get a great matchup against the Chicago Bears. In case you've been under a rock, the Bears aren't exactly the 1985 Bears, so there should be some points on the table for Sunday. The Bears are 31st against the pass and Johnson should be busy as possibly a WR3.
Maquess Wilson, Chicago Bears (owned in 26 percent of leagues) - The Bears have nothing to play for, so they might as well see what they have with Wilson. He was targeted 10 times on Sunday, catching seven balls for 66 yards in a loss to the Detroit Lions, a great defense. Wilson should be a solid option as a WR3.
Eddie Royal, San Diego Chargers (owned in 21 percent of leagues) - Royal is probably a better option in PPR leagues among any of these guys. He caught 10 balls for 94 yards against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. Keenan Allen is out with an ankle injury, so expect Royal to be busy again.
Malcom Floyd, San Diego Chargers (owned in 45 percent of leagues) - He's a better fit for a standard league for his big-play ability. Again, the matchup is bad.
