Fantasy football waiver wire, Week 16: Johnny Manziel disappoints

The rookie couldn't get anything going Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The much-heralded debut as Cleveland Browns starting quarterback finally happened for Johnny Manziel Sunday, and he did nothing but disappoint. The quarterback couldn't get the Browns to even a single point Sunday, as they lost 30-0 to the Buffalo Bills.

Manziel completed 10-of-18 passes Sunday for 80 yards with two interceptions. He also ran the ball five times for 13 yards. The Browns, who started the season 6-3, have lost three in a row and four of five to fall to 7-7 and basically out of any playoff race. The switched quarterbacks, going from Brian Hoyer to Manziel, in that stretch as well.

Fantasy impact: The wise play with Manziel all along was to give him a week to play before buying in in fantasy -- there's a reason the Browns were so loathe to move to Manziel, and we saw a good bit of that reason Sunday, as Manziel was inaccurate in the game and couldn't get free to use his legs.

One game isn't a deal-breaker, though, and if you invested in Manziel before Week 15, he should remain rostered in case he realizes some of his upside. Rostered, but not started under any circumstances.
