Steve Downie turns Marc Staal into a turnstile

The Rangers blew a two-goal lead in 24 seconds.

The curse of the two-goal lead is alive and well in New York.

The Rangers held a 3-1 lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins with about five minutes left in regulation when Evgeni Malkin narrowed the gap with a goal in front of the net.

Just 24 seconds later, Steve Downie turned Marc Staal into a turnstile and tied the game at three.

We're seriously not sure what Marc Staal was trying to do here. Was he trying to avoid the puck? The obvious move would be to stick your leg out as far as you can, but instead Staal turned away.

At any rate, the Rangers' lead was gone in 24 seconds and New York would have to play for the extra point in overtime.
