DeAngelo Williams injury update: Panthers RB questionable, Jonathan Stewart's fantasy value shouldn't be affected

DeAngelo Williams is questionable for Sunday's game with a hand injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is questionable for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Williams is dealing with a hand injury that forced him out of Carolina's Week 14 game against the New Orleans Saints. That said, the Panthers confirmed on Friday that Williams will likely be active on Sunday, but that he will be available in an "emergency" situation.

It seems like Williams is close to being healthy enough to start if needed, but the Panthers are finally accepting that Jonathan Stewart is simply the better back at this point in their respective careers. Carolina has refused to give one of these guys the overall edge in carries throughout the past few years, but Williams hasn't been great this season while Stewart is picking up steam.

Fantasy Impact: Williams has no fantasy value and should not be carried throughout the remainder of the season. Stewart definitely has some fantasy value, with his one concern being how many carries Williams could conceivably take from him. But this news is confirmation that this shouldn't be an issue on Sunday, so fantasy owners can start Stewart with confidence.
