Saints vs. Bears betting: Betting odds, spread and 'Monday Night Football' pick

New Orleans looks to stay in the hunt for the NFC South title with a win on Monday night over the Chicago Bears in Monday Night Football betting.

The Chicago Bears are just 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games at home with a 2-5 SU record in their last seven games at home but they will try to play the spoiler role hosting the New Orleans Saints this Monday night.

Chicago is a 3-point home underdog according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Both of these teams have struggled badly of late, but Chicago's poor defense should give the New Orleans Saints a slight edge to win and cover as a 3-point favorite on the road.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: New Orleans 23.4, Chicago 15.6

Once a team that prided itself on having one of the best defenses in the league, the Chicago Bears now find themselves at the bottom of the NFL with the worst scoring defense in the league averaging 29.1 points per game against. Jay Cutler's 15 interceptions and 11 fumbles are a part of the problem, but the quarterback is in a tough spot too with his team so frequently playing from behind.

The Bears are 5-8 SU and ATS on the season and 2-5 SU and ATS over their last seven games.

New Orleans visits the Chicago Bears at 8:30pm ET on Monday night at Soldier Field.

Like the Bears, the Saints are also 5-8 SU and ATS on the season. But instead of being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention like Chicago, New Orleans headed into Week 15 tied for first place in the pitiful NFC South and still has a shot at playing a home game in the postseason with a division title.

The Saints haven't been much better defensively ranking 30th in the NFL with 27.6 points per game against and are mired in a 1-4 SU and ATS slump including last week's inexplicable 41-10 home loss to Carolina. The Saints lost two MNF games after covering five straight Monday nighters and have won and covered three straight road games after a long stretch of road futility.

The OVER is 8-4 in Chicago's last 12 games and 8-2 in New Orleans' last 10 games according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Monday night's total is set at 54 points

With the way these two teams are playing it is hard to have much confidence in either of them. But the Saints have more to play for and the edge on offense, which should push them over the top at -3 on Monday night.
