David Pastrnak scores Bruins game-winning overtime goal off no-look pass

Soda to Pasta worked pretty well.

The Boston Bruins earned a much-needed three-point cushion in the thick of the Eastern Conference wild card race, but it was the way they got it that was so impressive.

Carolina managed to push the Bruins to overtime on Saturday, where Boston winger Carl Soderberg made a great play to finish things off. Soderberg skated down the wing deep into the Hurricanes zone before whipping a no-look backhand pass to David Pastrnak in the slot. The Bruins rookie quickly deposited it past Cam Ward for the game-winning tally.

That was Pastrnak's tenth goal and 24th point in 39 games, which is a pretty good stat line for a rookie. Boston's overtime win did a lot of things to the Eastern Conference race. It eliminated both New Jersey and Philadelphia, and (most importantly for Boston) gave the Bruins a 3-point lead in eighth place over Ottawa.
