Valencia came in to this match hoping to maybe hoping to catch Barcelona napping between legs of their Champions League quarterfinal tie, stealing a point or three and giving themselves a chance of moving up to third place in La Liga if Atletico Madrid also falter.
Barcelona had other plans.
Lionel Messi shucks one defender and pulls two others to him, giving Luis Suarez all the space he needed to slot home. It was as classic a Barcelona goal as you'll find, and the fact that it came just 55 seconds in to the match shows that they don't intend on slowing down in the league one bit, even with the Champions League race heating up.
