Colt McCoy is starting and has fantasy value

That headline is not a joke. We break down the fantasy implications.

Washington quarterback Colt McCoy is officially listed as the starting quarterback for Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Robert Griffin III is listed as the backup for the road game.

Griffin is on the bad side of his coach right now and coach Jay Gruden has said he likes how Colt fits in his system. The Colts (yes, this is confusing) defense is a decent matchup as the 15th-toughest in the NFL for fantasy quarterbacks. More often than not, they keep quarterbacks in check, but the loss to Pittsburgh Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger really threw off their average. In other words, that one outlier makes them more of a top-10 defense against QBs.

As for RG3, it's pretty obvious that he can be cut in most leagues. He'll be a trade target for several teams, which is funny because Washington gave up a king's ransom to get him.

Fantasy impact: It's just too hard to trust McCoy. He's not a big-play guy, so there isn't much of a ceiling here.
