Roddy White will be inactive against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, thanks to an ankle injury.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. White is dealing with an ankle injury he sustained late in last week's game against the Cleveland Browns. He missed practice all week, but he was still listed as questionable coming into Sunday's game.
As late as Friday, head coach Mike Smith said that he was confident that White would be able to play against the Cardinals. It's unclear if that was just Smith trying to mislead, or if White suffered some kind of setback between then and now. Whatever the case, the Falcons will have to face the 9-2 Cardinals without White in action.
Atlanta's passing game is one of the few things that's working for the team at the moment. White has caught 56 passes for 662 yards and five touchdowns on the season. He's second on the team in yardage, behind Julio Jones who has 72 receptions for 980 yards. Even though White clearly has clearly lost a stop, he and Jones are still one of the most difficult duos to cover in the league. Sunday's game will be a whole lot tougher without White in the lineup.
