2015 NFL Draft visit tracker: Which teams are the prospects meeting with?

The big signings of free agency are in the books and teams are now focused on the NFL Draft. Keep up with their pre-draft visits with this tracker.

While the free agency period continues throughout the offseason, NFL teams have now clearly turned attention to the 2015 NFL Draft. All of the big names have signed and plenty of other players will sign in the future, but teams have Thursday, April 30 circled on the calendar.

That's when the NFL Draft gets underway -- it will end on Saturday, May 2 -- which means there's just enough time for teams to get their pre-draft visits in to try to get their draft boards in order. With the Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine Game, NFL Scouting Combine, various regional combines and individual school pro days, there are many opportunities for NFL teams to get a look at the top prospects from around the nation.

But the league also allows teams to host up to 30 official pre-draft visits (not counting players local to the team's area). Those visits are already underway and will continue until the days leading up to the draft. We'll follow the moves each team makes below.

Watch Caroline Rotich's crazy last-minute sprint to win the 2015 Boston Marathon

It's pretty amazing that a 26-mile long race could come down to the final steps, but Caroline Rotich and Mare Dibaba were neck and neck on the last blocks of the Boston Marathon. Rotich fell a bit behind, then just blazed away for good:

Brett Lawrie's slide and the fracas that followed

Liverpool's failure shows how hard it is to crack the elite

A pile of money fetched for Luis Suarez was never going to do as much for Liverpool as Luis Suarez.

It's important not to get carried away with these things, so let's begin with a clarification: Liverpool have not had the worst season imaginable.

After all, nothing totally stupid has happened. The three worst things that can happen to a Premier League team are relegation, financial collapse and being bought by Mike Ashley, and Liverpool are currently threatened by none of the above. Many players have disappointed and underwhelmed, but none have gone missing, refused to play, or been exposed as an international jewel thief and had to spend most of the season moving between a network of safehouses across the continent.

But within the bounds of things that might reasonably have been expected to happen, it's been pretty close to as bad as could be. According to the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce, Rodgers set himself and his side three targets for this season. One — make it into the knockout stages of the Champions League — didn't survive past Christmas, while another — win a trophy — died yesterday afternoon. The third — re-qualify for the Champions League — is looking distinctly unwell.

The ins and outs of the season are, by now, familiar: a miserable summer of transfer business; the disintegration of Daniel Sturridge; the disaffection of Raheem Sterling; the ongoing problem of what to do with Steven Gerrard in his valedictory season; the chaotic defending of the first half of the season; the weird, limp apology of a Champions League campaign; Brendan Rodgers' occasional tactical anarchy; Brendan Rodgers' peculiar man-management. Pick your favourite and go at it.

The bigger question, though, is whether all of the above adds up to a more serious, long-lasting. It looks exceptionally likely that this season's top four will be Chelsea first, then Arsenal and the Manchester clubs. Which is to say, the four most predictable and obvious candidates for the top four. Or, if you prefer, the four richest.

Two of those teams, Chelsea and Manchester City, are there by virtue of being backed by, respectively, an comically rich individual and a comically rich nation-state, who have decided to spend some of that comical wealth on football. Maybe they just really like football. Maybe they're up to something else. That's not hugely important.

As for the other two, they have earned their status thanks to two managerial appointments of remarkable efficacy and timing: United appointed Alex Ferguson, stuck with him, and he came good just as the Premier League and the Champions League came into being and began to grow. Arsenal appointed Arsene Wenger a couple of years later, and he arrived carrying secret knowledge from far-off lands about previously undiscovered things like "training," "broccoli," and "not constantly drinking lager."

All of which is to say that for a team to establish itself as part of the establishment — as a perennial, year-on-year competitor — takes something epochal, and to disrupt that establishment takes something remarkable. In the last five seasons, only Tottenham and Liverpool have disturbed the top four, and both times they were able to call on a world-class talent (Gareth Bale, Luis Suarez) while one of the other lot (Chelsea, Manchester United) were in a state of disarray. Perhaps Liverpool might have done just as well even with a decent United side to contend with, but it certainly looks as though a team wanting to get into the top four needs to be brilliant and needs somebody else to be rubbish.

Coming into this season Liverpool were trying to transmute themselves from ambitious outsiders to establishment member. In a sense that's been their task ever since Manchester City bought their way into the big-time, but this time they were trying to do it with a second-place finish, a large, Suarez-shaped pile of money and the carrot of Champions League football. They failed.

Ultimately, it's a failure that can be sliced two ways. The tendency is to assume that the failure belongs to Liverpool and Liverpool's decisions, in particular the transfers; after all, they didn't buy a single player whose interest in the club was dependent on Champions League football. Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Javi Moreno, Javier Manquillo, maybe even Mario Balotelli. These are all players who would have come to Liverpool for the name, for the club, and for the Europa League. Perhaps that should have been a sign.

Alternatively, perhaps it was an impossible task to begin with. Perhaps the Premier League, at this moment in footballing history, is a competition that can only end up somewhere surprising as part of a smash-and-grab, in the tiny window between a team finding somebody brilliant — a player, a manager — and the big beasts noticing and whipping out the chequebook.

Perhaps the most important moment of the entire season, in a symbolic sense, didn't come at Wembley or in Basel, but back in the summer, when Alexis Sanchez looked at his options and plumped for Arsenal. That decision, and the failure of Liverpool to pick up anybody else of a similar standing, might just be down to his preference for London and some generalised committee incompetence. But it might also be evidence that there are big clubs and then there are Big Clubs, and that Liverpool, while certainly the former, aren't yet the latter. More, it suggests that the transformation from the former to the latter can't be achieved on the back of a second-place finish and a trip to Europe's top table.

In essence, Liverpool are now back where they were two seasons ago, except they don't have a Suarez, they don't have the money that comes from a losing a Suarez, and their manager is no longer on a smooth upward curve. Perhaps Rodgers has it in him to conjure something remarkable from what he has and can get, and he could certainly make a good case that he deserves the opportunity.

But when the game's rigged, those on the losing side need to find new, exciting ways to play. Rodgers almost managed it; from where he is now, with that campaign a memory, it looks less possible than ever. Smash-and-grabs are hard enough the first time around. Hardly anybody gets to have a second go.

The right and wrong reasons to discredit Tim Sherwood

Ref gives death stare and reaches for red card, ends player mob

Meet Bakary Gassama, who we're naming the most badass referee in professional soccer. Al-Ahly's players were furious about calls not going their way at the end of their CAF Champions League match against Moghreb Tétouan, but Gassama gives them a death stare and reaches for the red, then MOB OVER.

Every important NFL free agency rumor in one place

Keep up with the latest from the NFL rumor mill.

NFL free agency officially started Tuesday, March 10 at 4 p.m. ET. Teams didn't wait that long to get a head start on the offseason. General managers have busied themselves making roster cuts, negotiating with their own free agents and creating a little buzz on the rumor mill with trade talk.

The wildest news cycle in recent NFL history got underway with the completely unforeseen deal sending LeSean McCoy from the Eagles to the Bills in exchange for Kiko Alonso. It was off the races after that. The free agency tampering window, er, negotiating period, opened on Saturday, March 7, and the rumor mill has been cranking overtime since then, interrupted only by a long string of tweets from the various NFL insiders delivering shocking news about trades and signings and contracts and everything else that makes pro football's version of the hot stove so darn fun.

At any rate, it can be a lot to monitor when your Twitter feed is moving fast enough to generate electricity and one report would seemingly contradict the next one. That's why we have our handy rumor tracker, for you, the excited fan who only wants to see your team do something to make itself a little better next season. So follow along with the endless flow of information and speculation.

For the free agent signings, we're keeping tabs on those over here, right down to the long snappers and third-string guards.

From the rumor mill:

April 20: Stevie Brown says he has multiple offers, but it sounds like he wants to return to the Giants and could re-up with the team rather than join a new squad next season.

April 19: Safety Stevie Brown is considering five to six offers, and should make a decision on which team to sign with "soon." The Raiders are one team that has shown interest in Brown, who played in Oakland his rookie year after the team selected him in the seventh round of the 2010 draft. The Falcons, who are in need of safety help, are also rumored to have offered Brown, while the Cowboys denied any interest.

April 18: Wide receiver Greg Jennings left his visit with the Saints. He's one of the top remaining free agents, and the Saints were reportedly his final visit, so a decision could be coming soon.

April 16: Offensive tackle Anthony Collins could get a second chance with the Bengals, depending on the results of the upcoming draft. Collins hasn't received much interest on the free agent market after a disappointing season in Tampa.

April 16: Chris Johnson is readying his return to the NFL, and he is "in talks" with multiple teams, according to TMZ. Johnson says he's good to go, though no specific teams are mentioned.

April 15: Veteran defensive end Corey Wootton is expected to meet with the Saints on Wednesday, sources told Katherine Terrell of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

April 15: WR and special teamer Brad Jones visited Buffalo, where he played in 2011 and 2012. He spent the past two seasons with the Eagles.

April 14: Greg Jennings is adding up the frequent flyer miles. After a visit with the Jaguars, he will visit the Saints.

April 13: It now sounds like Michael Crabtree will sign with the Raiders, a week after conducting a visit with the team. It's not official just yet, though.

April 13: Hakeem Nicks is visiting with the Tennessee Titans.

April 13: Michael Crabtree is probably the top player left on the open market, and all of the Raiders, Dolphins and Ravens have shown the most interest in signing him. The Raiders could also be the favorites in landing him.

April 13: After visiting the Dolphins last week and leaving with no deal, Greg Jennings is back in Florida, this time meeting with the Jaguars.

April 13: Byron Bell is visiting the Titans a few days after working out for the Chiefs.

April 13: Former Giants CB Zack Bowman is in Miami for a visit, and he very well could leave with a deal.

April 12: The Eagles are reportedly working on a long-term extension with restricted free agent Cedric Thornton. The defensive end has yet to sign his one-year tender.

April 11: It's "highly unlikely" that the Colts re-sign running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw is still recovering from an injury and has not drawn any interest from other teams.

April 11: Michael Vick hasn't drawn any interest on the free agent market, but still intends to play this season.

April 10: Offensive lineman Byron Bell worked out for the Chiefs on Wednesday but no deal is imminent.

April 10: Right tackle Joe Barksdale is the top tackle on the market, but he left his visit with the Titans without a contract. The Rams are still "in the mix" for Barksdale, as well.

April 10: Adam Caplan says he's hearing rumors that ILB Joe Mays will be a Jet very soon.

April 9: Michael Crabtree visited with the Raiders, but he left with no deal in place. It's unclear if his asking price is too high or if he's still exploring other options.

April 9: It seems unlikely that the Lions will try to match the offer sheet that George Johnson signed with the Buccaneers. That deal will pay him $9 million and the Lions neglected to tender him at a high pick, so matching that doesn't seem likely.

April 9: Formers Bears cornerback Charles Tillman was in Charlotte on Thursday and is expected to sign with the Panthers.

April 8: Dawan Landry is visited the Bills Wednesday, per Rand Getlin.

April 8: The Raiders signed restricted free agent Sean Richardson from the Packers. Green Bay will have a chance to match the offer thanks to a tender slapped on him, although it wouldn't mean the Packers are owed a pick.

April 8: Tight end Rob Housler already visited the Bengals and Falcons, and now it's the Browns that will host the former Cardinals player on Wednesday.

April 8: Former Broncos, Texans and Chiefs linebacker Joe Mays is reportedly receiving interest from the Jets.

April 8: The Buccaneers snagged restricted free agent George Johnson from the Lions on a three-year deal, but Detroit still has the chance to match the offer.

April 8: What do you do when you have DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews? Look at more running backs, of course. The Eagles brought in Cedric Peerman for a visit on Tuesday.

April 8: Greg Jennings isn't the only receiver catching Miami's eye. Wes Welker is visiting with the Dolphins, where he spent three seasons early in his career.

April 7: Former Rams right tackle is heading to Nashville on Thursday to visit the Titans, who are in the market for a replacement for the recently released Michael Oher.

April 7: Miami's interest in Greg Jennings is legit: he's visiting the Dolphins on Tuesday.

April 7: Stevan Ridley is going to chat it up with Jay Gruden when he visits Washington. Does he fit in Gruden's plans?

April 6: Greg Jennings is one of the top receivers on the market and the Dolphins "haven't ruled out" signing him. Miami has been in on other free agent receivers such as Michael Crabtree and Denarius Moore, who signed with the Bengals on Monday.

April 6: Michael Crabtree's visit with the Raiders is happening on Monday. Thus far, his only other reported visit has been the Dolphins.

April 6: The door "remains open" for center Lyle Sendlein to re-sign with the Cardinals.

April 6: Stefen Wisniewski is meeting with the Titans after visiting the Patriots and Jags last week.

April 5: The Dolphins were reportedly ready to pay Michael Crabtree $3 million next season, but he's looking for $4.5 million.

April 5: Former CFL speedster Chris Williams recently worked out for the Bengals, Bucs and Colts.

April 3: Stevan Ridley left the Jets' facility without an offer, but he may still end up in New York (Or perhaps Miami?).

April 3: How good would Michael Crabtree look in silver and black?

April 2: Defensive end and restricted free agent George Johnson visited with the Buccaneers.

April 2: Stevan Ridley is staying overnight in New York after visiting with the Jets on Thursday.

April 2: Ex-Giants wideout Jerrel Jernigan had a tryout with the Buccaneers.

April 2: After playing for the Bears and Vikings in 2014, Corey Wootton tried out for the Titans on Thursday.

April 2: Could Denarius Moore end up wearing orange and black in Cincinnati next season?

April 1: Stefan Wisniewski visited the Patriots this week and has another meeting scheduled with the Jaguars.

April 1: The Bengals will host free agent tight end Rob Housler, who is reportedly sitting on an offer from the Ravens.

April 1: Steven Ridley continues his tour of the AFC East and will meet with the Jets on Wednesday.

April 1: The Eagles are "willing to trade" cornerback Brandon Boykin, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.

April 1: The Buccaneers hosted offensive lineman Dan Connolly for a visit.

March 31: The Raiders have released defensive end Antonio Smith and rumor has it that the Texans could be interested in a reunion.

March 31: Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Bears are hosting RB Jacquizz Rodgers for a visit.

March 31: Dolphins are bringing in running back Stevan Ridley for a visit, per Ian Rapoport.

March 30: 49ers reportedly hosted free agent linebacker Philip Wheeler.

March 29: Shoulder surgery might be the reason center Stefan Wisniewski hasn't been able to find a new team yet. The former Raider previously visited with the Seahawks and Bucs, and has received interest from the Rams and Chiefs.

March 28: Ben Ijalana visited with the Panthers. He's dealt with significant injuries in the past but Carolina needs help at the tackle position.

March 28: Free agent linebacker Rolando McClain and the Cowboys have "drastically different" numbers in mind for a new deal.

March 23: Greg Jennings still has something to offer NFL teams, and the Jaguars are interested, says GM Dave Caldwell.

March 23: The Lions have reached out to left guard Rob Sims, who has started 80 consecutive games with the team. He hasn't drawn much interest on the open market.

March 23: Rob Housler is still on the market, but maybe not for long. He's had discussions with the Browns, and there's a mutual interest.
