CIT Tournament 2015 scores and bracket: Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky survive and advance

Five Tuesday night games in the College Invitational Tournament saw some high seeds survive and adavance

The CIT continued Tuesday night and added some exciting action in five games that saw three go down to the wire. Eastern Illinois skated past Oakland. USC Upstate beat James Madison and Bowling Green also advanced to add to a few other early contests in the tournament.

Eastern Illinois 97, Oakland 91

Kahlil Felder showed out again with a 37-point, 11 assist, eight rebound performance for the Golden Grizzlies, but was denied by Eastern Illinois late after getting as close as four points after being down for most of the second half. For the Panthers, it was Reggie Smith that did all of their damage, netting 26 points of his own while Trae Anderson added 19 points off the bench.

The Panthers shot an above average 55 percent from the field and 48 percent from deep against Oakland in their win, though they did lose 17 turnovers. The Golden Grizzlies chucked 36 threes on 27.8 percent from deep. Eastern Illinois will advance.

USC Upstate 73, James Madison 72

In a last second Ron Curry heave, after an USC Upstate bucket left James Madison sour at the end of this one.

Ty Greene dropped 26 points on 18 shots, six being threes, for the Spartans for their first CIT win of the postseason. In a game that was tied for a majority of the contest, Greene hit his final bucket with a minute left to play to give USC Upstate their victory with a minute to go.

Jackson Kent had 19 points for James Madison on five triples and helped the Dukes inch as close as they could to a victory in their opening round of the postseason, but it proved to not be enough.

The rest of the games from tonight:

Bowling Green 67, Saint Francis 64

Eastern Kentucky 81, Norfolk State 75

UL-Lafayette 83, Incarnate Word 68
