Elite Eight Betting Preview: Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. Duke Blue Devils

No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Gonzaga will meet in a highly anticipated Elite Eight matchup on Sunday.

The No. 2 Gonzaga Bulldogs are 0-6 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last six games against No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. To advance to the Final Four for the first time in school history, Gonzaga will have to solve the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils on Sunday at NRG Stadium.

Gonzaga is listed as a 2.5-point underdog against Duke at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This will be just the second time this season that the Bulldogs are a betting underdog.

Since being stunned by BYU in a home loss as a 13.5-point favorite back on February 28, the Gonzaga Bulldogs have gotten back to dominating their competition. Gonzaga is 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS in the month of March with an average margin of victory of 14.

The Bulldogs have won all three of their games in the NCAA Tournament by double digits so far. In 10 games as an underdog since March 2012, Gonzaga is 7-3 ATS.

After winning their first two games of March Madness with blowouts, Duke played in a closer game on Friday in a 63-57 win over Utah. Still, with the win as a 4.5-point favorite, the Blue Devils improved to 3-0 SU and ATS so far in this tournament and 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a favorite in March Madness. Duke is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four games against No. 2 seeds and 6-1 ATS in its last seven games as a favorite overall.

Each of Duke's last seven games as a favorite has played UNDER the posted total. Sunday's total is set at 145 points for the Bulldogs vs. Blue Devils betting matchup.

With No. 1 Wisconsin beating No. 2 Arizona on Saturday, No. 1 seeds are 10-10 SU and 11-9 ATS in their last 20 games against No. 2 seeds. Before losing to Louisville in 2013, Duke had won each of its previous four Elite Eight games. Both of these teams have played great this season and have plenty to prove on Sunday, setting the stage for an excellent showdown.
