Why did D'Angelo Russell taint this sick crossover with a miss?

The move was too good to have it end this way.

Why did D'Angelo Russell do this?

He crossed a grown man into the push-up position. He really dropped him into a cross-fit plank with a dribble. Sure, he misses the shot and to some people that's what really counts, but goodness, Doug Brooks' parents are watching. You don't do that to someone's son while they're in attendance. D'Angelo Russell street hustled Doug Brooks in front of thousands of people.

It's like when they ask you to find the card in the cup, but the game was rigged from the start. He reached for the ball and Russell put him in a Beyonce "Partition" pose. Doug Brooks did not wake up today knowing he'd be twerking on national television because he went for a steal. That's just rude.

This is like watching someone get led on and then rejected in action. Russell, in one play, left Brooks waiting at a restaurant alone for the ball to show up. At this point, the waiter's coming over to remove the second plate and Russell is checking the time on his phone.

Brooks owes Russell half of his dreads now. He has to cut it them off and look like Maxine Shaw from now on. There's no coming back from this.

That's why he stays on the ground till he saw that Russell missed. At that point, he's praying for the ground to open up and swallow him. He got crossed into a fire-drill position in front of his family and friends. Sometimes life is unfair like that.

At least he can take solace in the fact that Russell missed the shot. That's what cynics will look at. Not the fact that a grown man just had gravity increased on him with a crossover. Not that Doug Brooks imitated a dying seal on national television because he wanted to take the ball from D'Angelo Russell.

Why didn't he just make this shot so we can have a proper remembrance for the basketball player formerly known as Doug Brooks?
