Mike Trout becomes youngest ever with 100 HR, 100 SB

With a two-run home run in the sixth inning, Angels outfielder extraordinaire Mike Trout became the youngest member of the 100-homer, 100-steal club.

Trout launched a line drive into the Crawford Boxes in left field off Roberto Hernandez to give the Halos a 3-1 lead on Friday night, the first game of a three-game weekend series at Minute Maid Park in Houston. It was the second home run of the season for Trout, who entered Friday hitting a robust .438 (14-for-32).

That gave Trout 100 home runs to go with his 104 career stolen bases. At 23 years, 253 days old he is the youngest member of the 100-100 club, of which there are now 229 members. Alex Rodriguez was the previous youngest to join, doing so at 23 years, 309 days in 1999.

The only other Angels player with at least 100 home runs and 100 stolen bases is Darin Erstad, who had 114 home runs and 170 steals for the Halos from 1996-2006.
