CIT Tournament 2015 scores and bracket: Cleveland State, Evansville among teams moving on

The first round of the CIT is almost complete, with just one more game to be played Thursday.

The Collegeinsider.com Tournament continued its first round on Wednesday night, with most of the big games taking place. The second round isn't quite settled yet with just one game played on Thursday, but fans know 15 of the 16 teams that will continue to play next week and beyond.

If you don't religiously follow the mid-major scene, there weren't a lot of marquee teams that played Wednesday night. Cleveland State and Evansville might be the most high-profile, if only for being the third-best teams in their respective conferences. Sam Houston State racked up a lofty regular-season record but couldn't get past Stephen F. Austin, so the Bearkats are stuck in this tournament. The rest of the field is filled with interesting but not exciting teams, who couldn't do enough to win their small conferences.

Despite that criticism, there's a trophy up for grabs and senior players can keep playing, so the CIT is still worth following for diehard fans. Here are Wednesday's scores.

High Point 70, Maryland Eastern Shore 64

Canisius 87, Dartmouth 72

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 75, Florida Gulf Coast 69

Cleveland State 86, Western Michigan 57

Kent State 68, Middle Tennessee 56

Sam Houston State 87, UNC-Wilmington 71

Evansville 82, IPFW 77

Northern Arizona 75, Grand Canyon 70

Sacramento State 73, Portland 66
