After there was only one upset in the Round of 64 on Friday, teams like Dayton and Michigan State eye upsets in Sunday's Round of 32 action.
The No. 7 Michigan State Spartans are 12-1 SU and 8-5 ATS in their last 13 appearances in the Round of 32. The Spartans figure to be a dangerous underdog this Sunday when they square off against the No. 2 Virginia Cavaliers at the NCAA Tournament.
Michigan State is a 5-point underdog on Sunday according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Spartans have been the underdog in the Round of 32 five times since 1998 and are 4-1 SU and ATS over that stretch. Virginia is just 3-8-1 ATS over its last 12 games despite a 10-2 SU record in those 12 games.
No. 11 Dayton vs. No. 3 Oklahoma will be an interesting test for both teams. The Flyers were the only higher seed to advance into the Round of 32 on Friday, crushing Providence 66-53 as a 3-point underdog. Oklahoma defeated No. 14 Albany 69-60, failing to cover the 13-point spread and falling to 1-8 ATS over its last nine games.
Dayton won outright as a No. 11 seed against a No. 3 seed last year when it defeated Syracuse 55-53 as an 8.5-point underdog. This year, the Flyers are a 4.5-point underdog.
Arguably the best and most anticipated game on the board this Sunday is between No. 7 Wichita State and No. 2 Kansas. Both teams believe themselves to be the best team in Kansas and now one of them can earn bragging rights with a win in the NCAA Tournament.
The Jayhawks are 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games in the Round of 32. Wichita State is a 1.5-point underdog on Sunday on the March Madness betting lines.
The No. 1 seeds will look to avoid upsets when No. 1 Duke (-9.5) takes on No. 8 San Diego State and No. 1 Wisconsin (-12) goes up against No. 8 Oregon. Duke is 13-1 SU in its last 14 trips to the Round of 32 but just 6-8 ATS over that stretch.
Rounding out Sunday's NCAA Tournament card is No. 4 Maryland vs. No. 5 West Virginia (PK), No. 4 Louisville (+2.5) vs. No. 5 Northern Iowa, and No. 2 Gonzaga (-6) vs. No. 7 Iowa.
