One record has fallen Sunday at Augusta and Jordan Spieth may be coming for more.
Jordan Spieth is going to win the Masters. Now we just need to figure out how many records he is going to break along the way.
Spieth already has one wrapped up on Sunday, and that's the total birdies record set by Phil Mickelson. The mark stood at 25 at the start of the week, and by Friday evening, it looked like Spieth would sail past it at some point this weekend. The 21-year-old got to 26 at the the 10th green on Sunday, pouring one in from just off the green to move back to 18-under.
That's the next record he's coming for on his way into the clubhouse -- the overall scoring record. Tiger Woods set that back in 1997 with his 270 18-under mark, and Spieth has hit that number four times now over the past two days.
He keeps bouncing and back forth with bogeys sneaking their way onto his card over these final two rounds. Spieth gave one back again at the par-3 12th to drop back to 12-under again. But with two eagle holes at the 13th and 15th up ahead, and benign pin placements at the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes, he's going to have multiple chances to zip past that 18-under mark.
Here's how much distance he has on the rest of the leaderboard with six more holes to play:
