Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers betting preview, matchup odds

Two of the NBA Western Conference's top teams meet as the Golden State Warriors host the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.

The Golden State Warriors are 14-0 straight up and 9-5 against the spread in their last 14 games at home. The Warriors will try to continue their home dominance this Thursday when they host the Portland Trail Blazers at the Oracle Arena.

Golden State is a nine-point favorite over Portland according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This will be just the fourth time in Golden State's last 12 home games that they are not favored by double digits.

With the Western Conference already locked up, the Warriors don't have much to play for down the stretch. Still, the team doesn't want to head into the playoffs on a down swing, so there should be some motivation for the Warriors to get back on track considering they've lost their last two games on the road to San Antonio and New Orleans.

Golden State had gone 12-0 SU and 10-2 ATS on the NBA betting lines over its previous 12 games before going 0-2 SU and ATS over its last two.

The Trail Blazers shook off an 0-5 SU and ATS slump in the middle of March to go 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS in their next eight games. However, while the turnaround has been nice, five of those six wins came against teams with losing records.

Portland has already clinched a playoff spot and looks to have a firm grasp on the No. 4 seed in the West as the winner of the Northwest Division, but a win over a team like Golden State on the road would give Portland a lot of confidence heading into the postseason.

The Trail Blazers are just 2-7 SU and 3-6 ATS in their last nine games against Golden State according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

Thursday night's total is set at 209 points for the Trail Blazers vs. Warriors betting matchup. The OVER is 6-1 in Golden State's last seven home games and 3-1 in the last four games between these two teams.

With both of these teams already locked into playoff spots, only pride will be on the line this Thursday night. Still, both teams have reason to come out swinging and try to pick up a win to head towards the playoffs on the right foot.
