Jimmie Johnson wins the 2015 Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway

Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag Saturday night at Texas, winning for the second time in 2015.

Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick dominated the Duck Commander 500, but Johnson was better when it mattered most, winning Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway.

A caution jumbled the running order with 24 laps remaining, vaulting Jamie McMurray, who took just two tires, into the lead. When the race resumed, Harvick and Johnson wasted little time maneuvering back to the front with Johnson completing the winning pass of McMurray 10 laps later.

Over the final laps Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. closed on Johnson, though neither could ever pull alongside. Harvick's bid for victory ended when he scraped the wall. He placed second, the sixth time in seven races he's finished second or better this season. Earnhardt, Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski completed the top-five.

The victory was Johnson's second of the season and 72nd of his career.

"(Harvick) all of a sudden was in second and coming hard on the top, so I moved up top to try and make that work and I looked in the mirror off to (Turn) 2 and I saw (Harvick) in the wall," Johnson said. "Just good fun. I think that (Earnhardt), (Harvick), all of us that were involved in that there at the end just had a blast."
