Not the best start to 2015 for one of the Marlins' key offseason acquisitions.
Mat Latos is a product of Coconut Creek High School in Coconut Creek, Fla., which is about 35 miles from Marlins Park. It must have been a thrill for him to start the second game of the season for the Miami Marlins in front of a hometown crowd.
That is, until he was booed off the mound after recording just two outs in the first inning.
The Atlanta Braves roughed up Latos for seven runs on six hits and two walks in just two-thirds of an inning on Tuesday. This sums it up nicely:

— Jesse Spector (@jessespector) April 7, 2015 Latos' ERA currently sits at 94.50. He was replaced by Brad Hand, who retired Nick Markakis -- the 12th batter of the inning -- to finally get the Marlins off the field.
The Braves will clinch a series victory if they hold on to win. It would be a pretty encouraging feat considering their turbulent offseason.
