In a season full of MVP performances, James Harden had the best scoring total of his career.
James Harden is a great scorer, and Wednesday was the best night of his career: The Rockets guard put up 51 points, drilling 8-of-9 three pointers and each point was crucial as Houston squeaked past Sacramento 115-111.
The Rockets led by as much as 19 and had an 11-point lead to start the fourth quarter, but the Kings cut the lead to two. Harden scored the next eight straight for the Rockets, including this and-1:
Harden's previous career high was 50, which he hit less than two weeks ago against the Nuggets. He has eight 40 point games on the year, and is second in the NBA in scoring with 27.2 per game. He also had eight rebounds and six assists to get the Rockets the win with Dwight Howard out. As crazy as it seems, Harden might not have had the most impressive line of the game -- DeMarcus Cousins had a 20-20 triple double with 24 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists -- and six boards to boot.
