One of the NHL's best rivalries is renewed as the Penguins seek to improve their playoff position.
Two days after Alexander Ovechkin scored his 50th goal of the year, Sidney Crosby took back some of the spotlight by hitting a special milestone of his own.
With Evgeni Malkin sidelined and just five defensemen dressed, Crosby gave Pittsburgh an early lead over Philadelphia by notching his 300th NHL tally, doing so by knocking home a Patric Hornqvist rebound. The superstar center is now the 18th active player to hit 300 and 186th in league history.
Crosby's mark, his 26th of 2014-15, brings him to 98 points on the season -- good for first in the NHL. Ovechkin and John Tavares are tied for second with 77 apiece.
