USA vs. Mexico lineups: Jordan Morris starts for USMNT

A college player will get his first start against Mexico.

Experimental teams were expected from the United States and Mexico on Wednesday night, but no one expected Jurgen Klinsmann to go quite this experimental. Jordan Morris has been handed his first career start, despite having never played a professional game. Morris plays for Stanford and Seattle Sounders U-23, and has rejected attempts by Seattle to sign him as a professional.

While tactics are not terribly concerning for either manager in a friendly, especially a non-FIFA date one like this, the USMNT doesn't match up favorably with this Mexico lineup. Both their 3-5-2 formation and their speed in midfield relative to the Americans is going to give El Tri a bit of an advantage.

Michael Bradley will captain the U.S., while Luis Montes takes the armband for El Tri in his return to the starting lineup. He's finally starting to find his form again after a serious leg break last summer.

United States (4-4-2): Nick Rimando; Greg Garza, Ventura Alvarado, Omar Gonzalez, DeAndre Yedlin; Mix Diskerud, Kyle Beckerman, Michael Bradley, Joe Corona; Jordan Morris, Gyasi Zardes

Mexico (3-5-2): Cirilo Saucedo; Carlos Salcedo, 'Maza' Francisco Rodriguez, Hiram Mier; Efrain Velarde, Carlos Esquivel, Mario Osuna, Luis Montes, Gerardo Flores; 'Cubo' Erick Torres, Eduardo Herrera

Kickoff is just after 8:30 p.m. ET from Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas. You can catch the game on FOX Sports 1 or Univision Deportes.
